Parkside and the Fantastic Beasts
Parkside and the Fantastic Beasts
Kim is famous! Well, her school is! Have you watched the Today Show recently? Are you a Harry Potter fan? If the answer to either of these questions is yes, chances are you’ve heard of Parkside School in Alabama. A couple of weeks ago the cast and crew of Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald visited this small school in Alabama to surprise the faculty, staff, and students. It was definitely a day that the whole school system will not soon forget!
One of the main reasons this school gained international attention is due to the change in culture and climate. Last summer some of the teachers decided to transform their hallways and tap into what the students are interested in. Some teachers chose Dr. Seuss as their template. Another teacher chose to use Bryant Denny stadium as the entryway to his classroom. His entryway went viral last summer and caught the attention of ESPN.
The most attention that the school has been receiving is due to the hallways that were decorated based on the Harry Potter movies. Warner Brothers found out about how this school had transformed their hallways and had to come see it for themselves.
The Today Show came along for that visit. Check out the story below:
We will be talking more about culture and climate in the coming days/weeks, but it was worth doing a blog post just to brag on Kim and Parkside School for a minute. Oh, and here’s Kim with her new famous friends! Let us know if you watched Parkside on the Today Show!
