Your First 20 Days

When plowing a field, the first row plowed is the most important. The same is true for your first 20 days of the school counseling year. Join us and your future best friends on a journey that others have called “life-changing.”
In this self-paced independent course we’ll be talking about establishing yourself as a leader, customizing your mission and vision statement, setting up your advisory council, branding yourself, promoting your program, decorating your classroom/office, setting your year plan and weekly schedule. We’ll also walk you through your first of the year teacher training and parent orientation/open house. We’ll give you surveys to collect information using specific indicators. We’ll then show you how to make that information work for your data-driven program. This is honestly only the tip of the iceberg. Plus it’s worth 12 hours of professional development credit!
