Starting a Side Hustle: What’s in it for me?

What if we told you how our side hustle for teachers reignited our passion as educators, rewarded us financially, and connected us with like-minded people?

What if we told you our side hustle for teachers reignited our passion in the classroom, made us more driven educators, rewarded us financially, and connected us with like-minded people who offer encouragement and support that is sometimes lacking in school settings?  You pour your heart out in the classroom, use your planning time to call parents, drink your cold coffee throughout the day, and take a bathroom break once (imaybe). You research part-time jobs for teachers and summer jobs for teachers before you finally just casually ask your doctor how much your appendix might go for on ebay just to grab some extra income.  And don’t get us started on the hours you put in. Having a teacher 40 hour work week sounds like a dream, and would actually be a significant decrease in the number of hours you currently work. So you’re reading the right post, tired teacher!

Side Hustle Definition

Did you know that teachers quit jobs at the highest rate on record?  We don’t want to see you quit a teaching job. We found our renewed joy through our profitable side hustle AND by joining the Transform Your Resources course by Kayse Morris.  What is a side hustle anyway?  A good side hustle definition is a job that a person has in addition to full-time employment.  The difference between a side hustle and a part-time job is that side hustles are usually freelance, meaning a person works on his own schedule.  So… You could do what you enjoy doing on your own schedule AND make money! To find your best side hustle ideas, ask yourself what you enjoy doing.  For us it was… well, our job! We are school counselors and helping others is our passion! So we started creating resources that could benefit students across the nation!

Get Excited and Make Things

What if we told you how our side hustle for teachers reignited our passion as educators, rewarded us financially, and connected us with like-minded people?

So let’s talk about what happened when we turned our passion into our side hustle business.  We found a fresh excitement for our job, not just our side hustle job, but our full time positions as school counselors.  Our students have benefited tremendously. Each time we develop a lesson, we try it out on our students.  We take note of each student’s reaction and make changes to our lessons to make them more effective. Our lessons transformed from something we had to do to something we couldn’t wait to do.  We believe that this has been our best and most focused year yet.

Creative Juices Are Flowing

I can almost hear you now, “Oh, I’m not creative!”  Back up, sister (or brother). If you’re in education, you.are.creative!  A funny thing happened when we started selling our teaching resources through our side hustle for teachers.  We were inspired to kick it up a notch when we created our lessons. We started by just adding a creative element here and a game there.  Before we knew it, we were being inspired by EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE! If we could attribute a character trait to creativity, we might say it’s attention hungry.  The more attention you give creativity, the more it wants to hang around. So if you feel like you aren’t creative enough to sell your resources through a side hustle online, start small by practicing being creative.  Flexing that creativity muscle will cause it to strengthen. Before you know it, you’ll be bench-pressing those creative resources!

A Ready-Made Side Hustle Family

What if we told you how our side hustle for teachers reignited our passion as educators, rewarded us financially, and connected us with like-minded people?

You know how moms are our biggest cheerleaders in life?  Well, Kayse Morris is our side hustle mom! We joined her Transform Your Resources course this spring.  Game Changer! We went from creating resources haphazardly and putting them online with a hope and a prayer, to being intentional and understanding how to create resources and market them appropriately.  If you are just starting to think about starting your side hustle for teachers, please save yourself time and energy and start out the right way by joining this course! If we could go back in time, we would have joined the Transform Your Resources course sooner.  Kayse has saved us so much time by telling us exactly how to create, name, and market our products for optimal success.  As the saying goes, “Time is money,” and we were able to start making money sooner by following her tips.

Not only has our “side hustle mom” given us easy to follow directions on how to succeed in our business venture, she has also given us a ready-made family. For real, y’all.  This group of people in our Transform Your Resources family has to be the most encouraging and supportive group of people ever. I’m not sure what your school is like, but it’s pretty uncommon for a group to celebrate the successes of others with genuine happiness. The stories, questions, and celebratory moments that have been shared within our group have been felt deeply by everyone. Isn’t that what a family does?  That’s what Kayse has created. We would love to have you join our family. There is always room around the table for more family!
